DALLAS -- With money still to come from the Dragon Shot competition and the pop can drive, Dallas High School students raised $6,320 for Doernbecher Children's Hospital during their annual Doernbecher Week festivities.
"We fell short (of last year) and we always want to do more; it's such a good cause," Rebecca Penna, DHS Leadership advior, said.
Penna said this is the 10th year that Dallas has been raising money for Doernbecher.
The week long fund-raising campaing culminates in a talent show and "beauty" contest where male students compete for the title of Mr. Dallas and the entire student body and staff have fun watching.
"Mr. Justin Chin (now an English teacher at DHS) was the first ever Mr. Dallas, 10 years ago. He'll probably kill me for telling you that," Penna said.
