MONMOUTH - Students at Western Oregon University will put their knowledge and skills on display during the university's Academic Excellence Showcase on Thursday, May 31.
The all-day event will unfold in rooms throughout the Werner University Center and other locations on campus.
Students will present research papers, projects, artwork, dance and music performances.
Sessions begin at 8 a.m.
Many faculty members cancelled classes last year in order to give their students an opportunity to participate or view the work of their peers.
"There is no better way to demonstrate the value of a Western Oregon University education than through the work of our students," said WOU President John Minahan.
"This celebration of academic achievement underscores the university's aspiration that our students will understand how to employ clarity in writing and speaking, critical thinking," Minahan said, "and a strong capacity for lifelong learning in taking what they have learned to the next step."
Times and locations for presentation will be available on campus Thursday. They also can be downloaded at
