WEST SALEM -- Five people were arrested in separate busts earlier this month in connection with drug distribution operations in Polk County, officials said.
The Polk Interagency Narcotics Team (POINT) was involved with agencies from Salem, Marion County and West Linn in a two-month investigation into the distribution of Ecstasy and marijuana from West Linn into Polk County.
Daniel Morgan, 22, and Kristy Simpson, 30, were arrested in their West Linn home on Dec. 5 after officers served a search warrant and discovered drugs and packaging paraphernalia, according to a release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Morgan and Simpson were charged with unlawful delivery of Ecstasy, marijuana and criminal conspiracy. Morgan was also charged with possession of Ecstasy and a "substantial quantity" of marijuana.
Police seized 89 Ecstasy tablets, 3.2 grams of power used to make Ecstasy, 30 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms and 1.25 pounds of marijuana.
On Dec. 12, POINT arrested three individuals in West Salem for methamphetamine distribution.
Keith Claggett, 48, Bert Rorye, 57, and Cynthia Yarnell, 51, all of West Salem, were charged with unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and criminal conspiracy. Claggett was also charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
