INDEPENDENCE -- Vendors and volunteers are still being sought to participate in the 2008 Hop & Heritage Festival in September.
Cost for food or product vendors to set up shop in Riverview Park or around the downtown area is $50 for a 10-by-10-foot spot. Spaces that measure 10 feet by 20 feet are also available for $50 and 50 $1-off coupons that will be distributed among event volunteers and musicians.
Several people are also needed for the annual Ghost Walk, which tours some of the historic -- and supposedly haunted -- buildings in Independence.
Because Ghost Walk attendance has grown, this year's event will be more self-guided, with hosts stationed at the entrances of about a dozen locations who will coordinate crowds and lead the tours.
The Independence Hop & Heritage Festival runs from Sept. 26-28 in Independence.
