Luckiamute Valley Charter School (LVCS) will host a Preschool/Kindergarten Roundup Thursday, March 13, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bridgeport Campus.
The open house at 17475 Bridgeport Road, just south of Dallas, will be the first opportunity to come to the campus, visit with the staff and learn more about the charter school's educational opportunity.
In order to complete the registration process during the open house, copies of a student's birth certificate, social security card and immunization records will need to be provided.
Parents can enroll children as early as age 3 in the preschool program and then continue within the same organization all the way through the eighth grade.
LVCS is a public charter school sponsored by the Dallas School District. It has an open enrollment policy, but class sizes are limited so parents should enroll their children early to ensure a position.
LVCS offers a Tuesday-through-Thursday preschool program for children ages 3-4. This tuition-based program is designed to introduce the children to the educational environment. It serves as a tool to parents as they begin this important transition. This carefully structured program is tied directly to the goals and philosophy of LVCS's K-8 program and provides a seamless transition for both the child and the parent.
Kindergarten at LVCS is like no other in the area. From the moment the child is enrolled their educational development becomes the highest priority. Using innovative teaching techniques, flexible curriculums and individual assessments, each child's needs are identified and matched with all available resources.
Bus transportation is provided from Dallas to both the Bridgeport and Pedee campuses for students in kindergarten through the eighth grade. LVCS also provides a Latch Key/After Care program at the Bridgeport campus which can help working parents of kindergarten students.
