Robber of W. Salem bank sought by police and FBI

WEST SALEM -- Salem police and the FBI are hunting for a suspect in a bank robbery in West Salem on Monday, April 5.

WEST SALEM -- Salem police and the FBI are hunting for a suspect in a bank robbery in West Salem on Monday, April 5.

At about 10:45 a.m., a man walked into Key Bank, 1500 Edgewater St. NW, and presented a teller with a demand note. He then escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, Salem police said in a press release. No weapons were displayed or seen.

The man was described as white, in his early to mid 30s, was between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, and had a slender build, dark mustache and goatee.

He was last seen wearing thin glasses and a yellow rain jacket. He fled from the bank on a bicycle.
