DALLAS -- Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Friday, July 22, on Clow Corner Road just east of Dallas.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Virginia Drive at about 7:30 a.m., Polk County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Garton said.

Cheryl Granger, 56, of Dallas was turning north onto Virginia Drive in a red Pontiac Grand-Am when her vehicle was rear ended by an eastbound silver Chevrolet Cavalier, Garton said.

The Cavalier was driven by Desiree Thompson, 32, of Independence.

Granger, Thompson and an 11-year-old passenger in Thompson's car all suffered minor injuries and were transported to West Valley Hospital, Garton said.

Thompson had not been paying attention to the vehicle in front of her when the accident happened, Garton said. No citations had been issued as of press time, though the incident is still under investigation.
