DALLAS -- The Dallas Police Department is requesting help locating a missing Dallas resident.

James Riley Porter, 32, was reported missing by his mother, Raelynn Porter of Dallas, on Monday, June 20. She said she last saw her son in their home at 9 p.m. on June 19 and was concerned for his well-being. Raelynn Porter told police when she woke up Monday morning, James was gone and based on his actions she believes him to be suicidal.

At this point in time, police have no reason to believe Porter is a danger to others.

Porter is believed to be wearing blue jeans, black boots and a black leather jacket. He is described as being approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, between 180 to 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

On Tuesday, Raelynn Porter found items indicating her son may have visited Dallas Cemetery, but a team of Dallas officers and Polk County Sheriff's deputies were unable to locate Porter in a search of the area.

This (Wednesday) morning, Dallas detectives requested the assistance of the Polk County Search and Rescue (SAR) team. A SAR dog team made another check of the area without locating Porter and a more extensive search of the vicinity started earlier this afternoon.

Anyone with information about Porter's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Lt. Rob Hatchell of the Dallas Police Department at 503-831-3516.
