FALLS CITY — The Falls City volleyball squad dropped a pair of Casco League matches.
The Mountaineers lost to Perrydale 25-6, 25-11, 25-10 on Sept. 15 before falling to Willamette Valley Christian 25-22, 25-11, 25-23 on Thursday.
“(Willamette Valley Christian was) a tough loss,” Falls City coach Roxi Barnhart said. “The girls played hard. They are still practicing perseverance, but we just couldn’t pull this one off.”
Allison Kidd had three aces and was the team’s top scorer on serves. Tiauannah Davis added a pair of kills.
The Mountaineers (1-4 overall, 1-3 Casco League) play at Livingstone Adventist Wednesday (today) and at C.S. Lewis on Monday before hosting Country Christian Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
DALLAS WINS FIVE OF SIX: Dallas earned wins in five of six matches last week. The Dragons split a pair of Mid-Willamette Conference matchups, defeating South Albany 25-6, 25-22, 25-9 on Sept. 15 before falling to Corvallis 25-17, 23-25, 16-25, 25-12, 15-7 on Thursday. The Dragons (6-2 overall, 3-1 MWC), also defeated Redmond, Central and Parkrose in best-of-three matches during the Dallas Tournament on Saturday. Dallas hosted Crescent Valley Tuesday after press time. The Dragons play at Lebanon on Thursday before competing in the Oregon City Tournament on Saturday and at Silverton on Tuesday.
CENTRAL SPLITS LEAGUE SHOWDOWNS: Central’s volleyball team earned a split of its league matchups. The Panthers defeated Crescent Valley 28-26, 25-16, 25-23 on Sept. 15 before losing to Lebanon 25-9, 25-18, 25-13 on Thursday. The Panthers also competed at the Dallas Tournament on Saturday. Full results were not available. Central (2-2 MWC) played at Silverton Tuesday after press time. The Panthers host Corvallis on Thursday and Woodburn on Tuesday. Play begins at 6 p.m.
